A Small Surprise from a Small Car, New Fiat 500

MANILA: July 4, 2015, save the date and stay free as it is the birthday of the Fiat 500. Yes, the cute toy looking car completes its 58 years of journey and this time it calls for double celebration because the refreshed 500 is launching on the same date. No doubt, the time is incredible! The cute 3-door hatch has been very popular in Europe, Asia, and USA, bringing a lot of success to its creators, Italian-American automobile manufacturer, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

The teaser photo released of the updated Fiat 500 does not give much clue of what exactly nip and tucks the car makers will do, but the most likely updates include the refurbished bumpers and redesigned lights. Although, it seems that the car will retain the retro styling cues but will exhibit new wheel designs as well. The changes in interiors are also minor and not yet confirmed as the previous reports suggested that the new 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, improved air vents, and entire new splash of colors to its trims will be there.

Fiat 500s are powered by a variety of engines, those ranging from 0.9 -litres to 1.4 litres with mix of diesel and gas variants, but the new small city car carry forward the engine from the original 500 with better outputs. The cute cuddle will get power from the TwinAir 0.9-litre two-stroke engine that puts out 85 PS of power. This engine has won the award of “International Engine” for the year 2013 for being the best green engine.
