All-New Ford Focus on its Way to the Philippines Auto World

MANILA: Ford Philippines official website holds a 'Coming Soon' tag above the new Ford Focus, and it has been a while since the same has been flashing with no updated information. But something happened yesterday that increased our hopes on an early Focus arrival in our market. Ford yesterday unveiled its revamped mean machine at the on-going Vietnam Motor Show, which opened its gate tomorrow. And being a neighboring country, we can hope that Focus will soon turn its wheel towards the Philippines auto world.

Now, let's have a closer look at Ford's VMS arena that became the center stage for All-New Focus. The most noticeable change is the re-tuned power terrain that replaced the age old 2.0-litre power mill. The new one came with a 1.5-litre mill that effortlessly generates a maximum power of 132 kW with a peak torque of 240 Nm. In addition to the crisp power figures, the engine expertise in low fuel consumption and 6% lower emission. All this became possible with the help of its EcoBoost turbocharger, direct fuel injection system, twin camshafts, and high pressures. Also, the new aluminum parts helped to increase the performance and fuel economy.

In addition to the 1.5-litre EcoBoost power mill, Ford also displayed a new petrol 1.6-litre Duratec Ti-VCT engine, generating 92 kW of power and 159 Nm of torque. All these figures are produced with the help of 6-speed automatic transmission that satisfies every tap on the throttle.The starting price of Focus is expected to fall near PhP 1.68 million.
