An All-Electric Sports Car Based on Honda CRZ Under Work

MANILA: It will be an all-electric machine, with four motor one for each wheel. Tells an Honda insider to AutoExpress, in addition he tells that the company is working on a new battery electric sports car that will stand on Honda CRZ chassis. With the help of four motors and a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery the car is expected to generate 250 hp of power and the same will run from a standstill to 62 km in just 3.2 seconds. This new electric Honda will also be armed with an All-Wheel Steer system, allowing the rear wheels to turn as much as three degree in either direction, adding to cars handling and angularity. Apart from all this the same will carry a 60 kWh battery giving out 250 miles of range.

This new Honda is a sibling of the electric CRZ racer that Honda recently introduced earlier this year at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The only diffrence being the 500 hp power that helped it push all the way up the mountain. Though presently in the prototype stage, Honda Official confirmed that the company will make every possible effort to bring it to the market and soon start over its commercial aspects.

Taking about its body kit, the electric car looks following Honda CRZ design language, only with wider dimensions helping it with the aerodynamic aspect, plus it featured wider wheels supporting down under. The question is, will it like the original CRZ, promise more and deliver less, or the case is different this time. Will people consider buying an all electric successor or not? Though, its under hood configuration sounds just right to light a fire under the EV movement.
