Audi offers Vorsprung and Black Edition trims of the E-tron

MANILA: Audi has added the range-topping Vorsprung trim and the Black Edition to its E-tron electric crossover.

The Vorsprung variant will also be available in an E-tron Sportback body, and both specs will have the latest digital matrix LED lighting technology.

Running the MMI (Multi Media Interface) is the new third-generation modular infotainment platform or MIB 3, which has 10 times more processing power than its predecessor, and facilitates new capabilities such as wireless connection to the Audi Smartphone Interface. It will accept fingertip and voice control input to access the phone book contacts, choose a radio station or a track from the media library, produce text messages via dictation, and even control the air-conditioning system.

All versions of the E-tron can display and control navigation and infotainment apps from a smartphone wirelessly on the central MMI monitor using the standard Audi Smartphone Interface.

Synthetic Twin leather covers the upper section of their dashboards, door armrests and lower centre console and complements the supple Valcona leather seat upholstery.

Both the Vorsprung and Black Edition trims come with alloy wheels of at least 20 inches in diameter, adaptive air suspension, LED lighting, the Audi Virtual Cockpit and the touch-screen MMI Touch system with its dual monitors.

The entry level of the Black Edition is the S line which uses privacy glass, and matrix LED headlamps and LED rear lamps. It uses sport air suspension, 21-inch Audi Sport wheels, and is distinguishable by its gloss anthracite black wheel design, which coordinates with the Singleframe, front and rear bumper inserts, window trims, roof rails and door mirror surrounds, all of which are also finished in black.

Vorsprung units use 22-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels with a matte titanium finish frame orange brake calipers. It comes with high definition cameras that transmit images of the SUV’s surroundings to OLED displays on each side of the cabin. They can be replaced by conventional door mirrors if preferred.
