BSB Junrose turns 57 this year

MANILA: BSB Junrose Corporation is celebrating its 57th anniversary this year.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When was BSB Junrose Corp. established?

The company was founded in 1968.
  • What are some of the names it carries?

Some of the brands it carries include 555 and Brembo.
  • Founded in 1968, the company has supported the country’s transport sector ever since. Its commitment stemmed from the belief of its founder, Benjamin Bangayan (whom the aftermarket firm is named after), that “transportation is the driver of the nation’s economy.”

Per BSB Junrose Corporation Chairman Ricardo Bangayan (son of the company’s founder),  no one understood the industry better than his father.

“Our founder was a former jeepney driver. That’s why he perfectly understood the needs and challenges of the sector, which led him to explore and pursue opportunities in the spare parts business,” he shared.

Over its 57-year history, BSB Junrose Corporation has demonstrated remarkable resilience, growing steadily despite numerous challenges brought by economic shifts and evolving market dynamics. Initially focused on supplying spare parts and accessories for jeepneys, the company has since expanded its offerings to cover a wide range of vehicles — from compact cars, motorcycles, trucks, and sport utility vehicles.

Today, BSB Junrose Corporation is recognized as a trusted name in the industry, bringing the best, popular, and globally respected parts and components to discerning Filipino drivers.

    Other news:

    Unwavering commitment

“During difficult years for the country — both politically and economically — many of our competitors left the market. We stayed,” the company’s Chairman noted.

“We remained committed to supporting the transport and automotive industries. By the time those competitors returned, we had grown stronger and emerged as one of the industry’s leading players,” he added.

Through the years, BSB Junrose Corporation has implemented strategic changes in its operations. On top of service expansion, the company also increased its presence nationwide and established dealer networks in key cities across the country.

“Many of our customers used to travel all the way to Manila just to purchase our products. Now, they don’t have to — they can find a dealer or workshop much closer to home,” Bangayan commented.

    Resilience in changing times

To keep up with the times, BSB Junrose Corporation embraced technology to become more competitive and efficient. Alongside increased investment in systems and automation, the company continues to prioritize training and upskilling its personnel.

“We’re also putting our succession plan into motion, giving the younger generation the opportunity to lead,” its head honcho said.

In November 2023, BSB Junrose Corporation officially appointed Ian Bangayan — a third-generation family member — as company President.

“Like the transport sector, we are always moving forward. BSB Junrose adapts and evolves — we navigate change, we learn from it, and we respond with flexibility. We’re proactively responding to changing customer habits, both in buying and driving, as mobility continues to transform,” the Chairman stated.

The year following Ian’s appointment, the company welcomed new international brands into its portfolio and became the Philippine distributor of Tokico by Hitachi Astemo and Liqui Moly — both globally respected names in the auto supply industry.

BSB Junrose Corporation pointed out that these new additions complement the existing top-tier brands it carries, like 555 and Brembo.

“BSB Junrose has been — and will always be — a major partner to Filipino motorists. As long as we uphold our founder’s vision of supporting the economy through transport, our customers can count on us to offer only the best that they deserve,” Bangayan concluded.
