MANILA, PhilippinesACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines have partnered with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to promote sustainable land travel and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Why did ACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines partner up with the Department of Tourism?

ACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines partnered with the DOT to promote local tourism and sustainable mobility.
  • Who is the lead navigator for the “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign?

The lead navigator for the “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign is Filipino-American travel vlogger Will Dasovich.
  • Through the “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign, the alliance aims to boost Philippine tourism with a nationwide electrified road trip powered by BYD’s electric vehicles and supported by ACMobility’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure network.

According to ACMobility, the initiative will leverage its charging infrastructure, a key component of the Philippine EV Spine, which spans from Pagudpud to General Santos City. The expansive network strengthens long-distance EV mobility and reinforces the country’s push toward clean energy transport solutions.

His road trip will amplify the DOT’s “Love the Philippines” campaign by delivering storytelling-driven content that promotes eco-friendly travel experiences with zero tailpipe emissions.

“This partnership between ACMobility, BYD, and the Department of Tourism marks a defining moment for sustainable travel in our country,” ACMobility Chief Executive Officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said. “Together, we are reshaping how Filipinos travel and experience the Philippines. By breaking the old mold of mobility, we fuel tourism with zero-emission transport.”

By integrating EV charging infrastructure into DOT Tourist Rest Areas, the campaign highlights key Philippine destinations while enabling accessible, environmentally responsible mobility. The collaboration also supports local economies by encouraging road travel to emerging tourism hubs.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco described the initiative as a transformative step toward building a purposeful and sustainability-driven tourism industry.

“The ‘Drive Electric. Love Pinas.’ campaign aligns tourism development with national policy directions on sustainability and clean energy,” Frasco said. “As we pursue recovery and long-term transformation, we remain firmly committed to environmental responsibility.”
