BYD Cars PH launches limited-run Seagull in Seashell Pink hue

MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines, through the distributorship of Ayala-led ACMobility, has formally introduced the Seagull Seashell Pink for the local market. It was launched at the brand’s most recent Tech Tour event held at SM North EDSA. 

At first glance, the said model might appear as an additional color option for the brand’s all-electric hatchback, but its entry into the market is actually tied to the car company’s charitable partnership with ACHealth’s Healthway Cancer Care Hospital located in Arca South, Taguig City. 

Specifically, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each BYD Seagull Seashell Pink will be donated to the hospital to support its cancer patients and various cancer-fighting programs. 

“Today we are at SM North EDSA The Block, to unveil the latest color options for the BYD Seagull. This is the color: Seashell Pink,” BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca said. 

“Starting today, for every purchase of the BYD Seagull Seashell Pink, we will be donating a certain amount to ACHealth’s Healthway Cancer Care Hospital,” Palanca added. 

For its pricing, the Seashell Pink version of the Seagull retails at P958,000. Take note, however, that the model’s availability for the Philippines is limited, though BYD’s local arm has kept mum with regard to how many examples were allocated for the local market. 

BYD Seagull Seashell Pink: specifications

While donning a fashionable new color, the BYD Seagull Seashell Pink still shares the same specifications as the ones in Sprout Green, Apricity White, and Delan Black. 

To be more specific, the hatchback nameplate utilizes a single permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with a 30-kilowatt-hour (kWh) BYD blade battery. At maximum, it can generate up to 73 horsepower (hp) and 135 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. 

From a single full charge, the BYD-made hatch can cover up to 300 kilometers, according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). It also has a vehicle-to-load feature, a CCS2 charging port, and a fast-charging direct current (DC) capacity of up to 30 kilowatts. 

Per BYD’s local arm, the model can reach 30-80 percent state of charge in just 30 minutes when using the appropriate DC charging station.
