Toyota Motor PH’s Atienza leads 29-brand strong group
MANILA: The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI) now has a new president: Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) Jose Maria Atienza.

Atienza is Toyota Motor Philippines' executive vice president for marketing.Atienza formally received the group’s leadership role from his predecessor, Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, who took over the position in 2012.

Apart from his new task of being the CAMPI president, Atienza is the concurrent TMP Executive Vice President for Marketing.
Further, the new CAMPI president served as the Head of Marketing for Toyota Financial Services Philippines and president of the Toyota Makati Dealer Group.
In his acceptance speech, the newly-appointed CAMPI vowed to all stakeholders the group’s cooperation and collaboration.
“This leadership is committed to building on CAMPI’s legacy rooted in purpose and creating positive impact for the Philippine automotive industry,” he affirmed.
For his part, Gutierrez expressed his utmost support to his successor.
“I wish the best to our incoming president, Jing Atienza, and the new CAMPI officers. I know you have already set yourself up for a lot of work. The past leaderships of CAMPI already set the path of posterity. I trust that the incoming officers will build on it and chart new successes for the Association with the full support of the members and industry stakeholders.”

New CAMPI vision
During the program, Gutierrez bared CAMPI’s new vision that reflects the group’s role as the leading automotive industry association in the country.
“This is not closing the book of CAMPI. Rather, it is opening new chapters for the incoming leadership, so that CAMPI can continue making an impactful stance on mobility transition in the country,” Gutierrez explained.
Atienza noted that the new vision will be supported by four pillars: technology and innovation; vehicle and road safety; industry development; and sustainability.
“Our framework for future action focuses on establishing automotive as a key sector with significant economic and societal contribution,” the newly-minted CAMPI president said.
Under his helm, Atienza is looking forward to sustaining current and forging new alliances to help realize the group’s vision; creating new opportunities for member and parts suppliers; and demonstrating the value that CAMPI brings to the industry and its various stakeholders as a partner for growth.
Now made up of 29 distributors from various brands, CAMPI sales account for around 95 percent of the local automotive market.
