Changan Motors re-enters PH with Honor S & Star Tuck

MANILA: In conjunction with Berjaya Auto Asia, Inc., Changan Motors has re-entered the Philippine automobile market. Already offering Ssangyong vehicles via the Auto Asia dealership, Berjaya Auto Asia, Inc. will now deal in both Ssangyong and Changan Motors’ automobiles. “When a buyer walks into an Auto Asia dealership,

And they will get the same brand of sales and after-sales service that puts the customer first”, said Mr. Japheth Castillo, who is the President of SsangYong Berjaya Motor Philippines, Inc. and Berjaya Auto Asia, Inc.

Changan Motors have brought with it the Honor S. It is an MPV with an upright stance and dual sliding doors. The MPV comes in two configurations, either 7- or 8-seat. The space inside for both the occupants and baggage is more than enough thanks to the MPV’s upright body structure.

Prominent features on the outside include 15-inch alloy wheels, stylish halogen headlights, rear diffuser, and unique taillights. The MPV comes equipped with front and rear air-conditioning for that added bit of comfort. For entertainment needs, there is a ten-inch touchscreen infotainment system with AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, and iPod connectivity features.

Under the hood of the Changan Motors Honor S is a 1.5-litre EA15-AB four-cylinder gasoline-fed mill that generates 105 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 145 Nm. The ample power is then sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The safety quotient of the Changan Motors Honor S is quite high thanks to the onboard safety features like dual SRS airbags, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, ISOFIX child seat mounts, alarm with engine immobilizer, reverse camera with rear parking sensors, and a child safety lock. The sole variant of the MPV, the Honor 1.5L S is available at Php 585,000.

While the Changan Motors Honor S is for people looking for a family-oriented vehicle, there’s also a business-dedicated vehicle brought in by the automaker. Available in cab & chassis, dropside, and an aluminium box forms, the Star Truck is the offering that Changan Motors is offering.

Powering the Changan Motors Start Truck is powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder gasoline-powered engine that produces 97 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 119 Nm. Just like on Honor S, the power produced on the Star Truck is also sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The Changan Motors Star Truck is available in three variants with the following price tags:

• Star Truck 1.3L Cab & Chassis – Php 435,000
• Star Truck 1.3L Dropside Pickup – Php 455,000
• Star Truck 1.3L Aluminum Box Truck – Php 488,000
