DOE honors 3 Shell stations, 20 Angkas riders

MANILA: The Department of Energy (DOE) recognized three Shell stations for their cleanliness, and 20 Angkas riders for their monitoring of fuel prices in partnership with Shell. 

The DOE awarded the three Shell stations with its Seal of Excellence for "their strong commitment to provide quality service to the public, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene," according to a release. 

Three Pilipinas Shell stations received the awards: the Pasig Boulevard station in Bagong Ilog, Pasig; the JP Rizal St. Station in Lamuan, Malanday, Marikina; and the Shell Forbes Park Compound in EDSA cor. McKinley Road., Forbes Park, Makati.

In the program, riders checked select Metro Manila fuel stations for their compliance to government-recommended petroleum product pricing, facilities maintenance, and customer service. The program ran from July 12 to November 15, 2021. 

Angkas riders scanned the gas prices and services in Shell stations. The rider then input their findings by scanning QR codes that DOE had posted at various Makati and Taguig gasoline stations.

Shell gave branded jackets, arm sleeves, and additional Shell goods to the 20 Angkas riders who provided consistent, accurate reports. 

Shell and Angkas began their partnership in 2019 in Cagayan de Oro City. Angkas riders who signed up with Shell GO+ were given special GO+ Pro cards, which gave the riders access to discounts, benefits, and rewards in all Shell Mobility stations.
