EVAP concludes successful 11th PH EV Summit

MANILA: The 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) last October 19-21 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, has become the most successful and highly anticipated electric vehicle (EV) event in the country.

Some of the most influential personalities in the industry gave riveting talks on the first day of the summit. They were led by Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Raphael Lotilla, Bureau of Customs Deputy Commissioner Jet Maronilla, and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.

DOE Director Patrick Aquino and Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Fita Aldaba also engaged in insightful discussions regarding potential government incentives and the implementation of the Comprehensive Roadmap for Electric Vehicles.

Meanwhile, a notable roster of EV advocates, including manufacturers, experts, and industry titans, kindled new ideas and viewpoints at the thought-provoking panel discussions in the first two days of the event.

EV exhibitors also showcased their latest EV models and innovations at the summit. Among them were AC Motors which featured BYD and Kia, Nissan, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Chery, Foton, Jetour, Lotus, WM Motor, Hongqi, Great Wall Motor, Dongfeng, MG, Autokid, and Asiatrends.

Two-wheeled EVs were also exhibited by VST-ESC, NWOW, DECC, and Hatasu.

“The 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit has exceeded all expectations, and it's inspiring to see the progress we've made. We have a bright future ahead as we work together to shape the electric mobility landscape in the Philippines,” EVAP Chairman Rommel Juan stated.

EVAP promises a bigger and better 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, slated for October 24 to 27, 2024.
