Experience the First Official Look of All-new Audi A5

MANILA: The German auto marque, Audi is ready to lock horns with its arch rival, BMW with its all-new A5 Coupe, which is now lighter, roomier and more powerful. The Germans have decided it’s time for a loud roar and there you go, it’s new A5 standing abreast of the rising tide. Audi presented the all-new coupe A5 at an event held in Ingolstadt, Germany, which was an eagerly awaited model from quite some time now.

Underpinning the same platform as that of Audi A4 and Q7, MLB Evo platform, this new coupe from German automakers has been revamped for good to lure out the customers out of its rivals’ showrooms. Overall on the styling part, the coupe has the traditional Audi touch with tweaks here and there. The front is now sharper and more aggressive with a well-contoured hood, new slats at the grille, redesigned bumper, new air dams and a small kink above the headlights. While the rear gets some modifications as well including refreshed tail lamps, bumper and a boot lid spoiler, which provides it with an ideal ending. The stance is now more pronounced allied to that sloping roofline and a groovy beltline, which not only compliment the set of alloy wheels attached but also add charismatic appeal to the new A5.

The cabin is impressive too, similar to that of A4 in terms of space, technology, luxury and comfort, the new A5’s cabin boasts an array of high-tech features that are integrated to grant you solace. There is a large 8.3-inch infotainment system’s screen at the centre, which comes with a digital instrument cluster allowing the driver an option to configure according to his needs and requirements. Features that are crammed in this car include wireless phone charger, in-car internet connectivity, MMI navigation, automatic climate control, flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, electronically adjusted seats and more.

On the mechanical front, Audi has offered a myriad range of engines to the Europeans that include both 2.0-litre petrol (TFSI) and diesel (TDI) power mills, while it is still not confirmed about what we’ll be getting. With multiple transmission systems, six-speed manual, seven-speed DCT and an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic, the new A5 will have the power range from 190 PS to 286 PS.

Adding an extra punch to that power unit, Audi has also presented new S5, which comes with a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged six-cylinder engine that can churn out a maximum power output of 354 PS. Not only this, the S5 variant will have a body kit, S-Line interior fittings, enhanced suspension and brakes along with an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox and a Quattro AWD system as standard.

With all the requisites covered we expect the German auto brand to do the needful at the earliest in the making and present us the real A5 2016 model on roads soon.
