Ford Assembles Noise-Cancellation Technology in its Cars

MANILA: Ford is keen to overcome the noisy environment in its cars and decides to install them with the latest noise-canceling technology which will make the cabin quieter. People look for quieter cabin in order to get peaceful drive without any hassle. Due to heavy traffic conditions on the roads of metropolitan cities, it has become important for automakers to come up with some quieter cabin.

Ford has recently come up with a great innovative idea of fitting noise-canceling technology in its cars. The American automaker derived the idea from the technology used in the noise-canceling headphones and it will make the car more peaceful and quite. The feature is commonly named as Ford Active Noise control. It uses microphones to detect undesirable noises coming from engine or volume level of audio system. The best part of this feature is that it directly anticipates whenever the driver is accelerating in a lower gear.

Dr. Ralf Heinrichs, Noise Vibration Harshness supervisor, Ford Europe said, “It is important to have complete silence in order to enjoy your favorite music while driving the car. The experience of quality music makes the journey enjoyable.”

For now, Active Noise Control is limited to the European Mondeo Vignale. This large premium sedan gets many features that enhances its sound quality such as acoustic glass used in the windshield and the front windows.

Sony’s sound engineers have also worked hard in tuning Mondeo Vignale’s audio system in order to deliver magnificent acoustic experience. The Sony setup includes 12 speakers and a premium Class D digital signal processing amplifier.

Ford has revealed that the Active Noise Control will appear in its other models such as the upcoming all-new Edge crossover. Hope Ford Philippines bring the tech upgraded models soon.
