Ford Edge ST teaser video released

MANILA: Being one of the most popularly known automakers around the global, Ford has introduced a teaser video of the sportier version of its crossover SUV. Called as the Edge ST, the car is the performance-based version of the standard model.

This present generation of the Ford Edge was introduced back in 2014 and looked like a completely new model over what we saw in the previous generation. The first generation of the car was introduced back in 2006.

Mechanically, the Ford Edge is a very powerful car under the hood. The smaller engine is a 2.4-litre unit with four cylinders and makes 245 horsepower and 366 Nm of torque. The bigger of the two EcoBoost (turbocharged) variants has a 2.7-litre engine with a V-aligned six-cylinder engine that can churn out more than 300 horses. Apart from these, a naturally-aspirated 3.5-litre motor was also be offered.

The produced power is channelled down to all the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission along with the convenience of a paddle shifter. The Edge is also the first car from the company to have the adaptive steering technology to assist the driver on the maneuvering and fun driving.

This new Ford Edge ST is powered by the bigger 2,7-litre EcoBoost engine which makes a maximum power of 335 PS. The company claims that it can hit a top speed of 208 kmph.

However, there hasn’t been any confirmation from the company about this new Edge ST being available outside the American market. Over the past, the ST line of cars have been elusive off the Philippines road and all we had was one unit of the Focus ST, but only for the press demonstration and was never launched in the country.
