Ford launches Ford Focus Black and Red Editions in Europe

MANILA: Ford Focus has maintained its decent presence in the compact car segment since 1988. In these years, Ford Motor Company has come up with various modifications in the Focus and tried to give it refreshed designs as per the consumer demands. Few years back, the sport edition of the Ford Focus was highly admired in the global market. So, Ford motor decided to give the car a sporty touch and finally introduced the special black and red editions in the global market. These editions share some design similarity with the Ford Focus Sport edition. However, the latest black and red editions have been launched in Europe.

The editions are close enough to the Wagon and hatchback trims. Meanwhile, the red edition will offer a red exterior accompanied with panther black accent along the mirror, grille, and roof. The black edition offers black exterior and glossy red finish on grille surround, roof, and mirror. Both the special editions will get large 18-inch alloy wheels with panther black polish.

These editions are powered by petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine comes in a 1.0-litre EcoBoost and a 1.5-litre EcoBoost. While, the diesel engine comes in variants 1.5-litre TDCi and 2.0-litre TDCi. The 1.0-litre gasoline engine churns out a power output of 123 hp, while the 1.5-litre petrol engine delivers 148 hp. The 1.5-litre diesel powermill propels 118 hp and the 2.0-litre diesel engine produces maximum power of 148 hp which is similar to the 1.5-litre petrol engine.

From inside, the special editions of Ford Focus comes packed with a leather wrapped steering wheel, red contrasting stitching, and stainless steel pedal. The suspension offers specially optimized anti-roll bar, new shock absorbers, and springs with better stiffness. The booking have been started in Europe and the editions are likely to hit other markets soon. Let’s hope that Ford Philippines may also bring this car for our enthusiasm update.
