Ford PH unveils Everest Sport, Ranger Sport Special Edition trims

MANILA: Ford Philippines has unveiled new Special Edition (SE) versions of the Everest Sport and Ranger Sport. 

The aforementioned sub-variants build on the macho appeal of the two Sport trims via additional styling details for their exteriors. Both, however, mainly keep the wide array of features and mechanical bits underpinning their regular counterparts. 

Ford Everest Sport Special Edition

On the outside, the Ford Everest Sport SE doubles down on black-colored parts. 

For starters, its hood now looks more distinctive thanks to the addition of black lettering spelling out the model’s name. The aforementioned goes together with the Sport trim’s black-colored grille, and its pair of LED multi-reflector headlamps. 

The biggest upgrade for the Everest Sport SE, however, is its black colored roof, complemented by a spoiler towards the rear. 

Completing the SE-specific touches for this new Everest trim is a set of 20-inch wheels, which have a particularly eye-catching red accent piece between two of its spokes. 

On board the Ford Everest Sport SE are the same set of creature comforts and three-row seating arrangement found on the regular Sport 4x2 variant. Some of its notable interior features include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Eight-inch digital gauge cluster
• 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system 
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Power-adjust front seats
• 60:40 split-folding rear seats
• Dual-zone automatic air-conditioning
• Smart keyless entry with push-to-start button
• Power tailgate
• Leather and synthetic leather upholstery
• Eight-piece speaker set

For its mechanical details, the Everest Sport SE utilizes the familiar 2.0-liter turbodiesel inline four mill that’s also available for the Sport 4x2, Titanium+ 4x2, and Trend 4x2 variants. The said engine is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox, as well.

Ford Ranger Sport Special Edition

Essentially, the new Ford Ranger Sport SE borrows the same look as its regular sibling. It has the same LED exterior fixture, sporty black grille, and 18-inch alloy wheels, but its bed was further enhanced with a chunky sports bar. 

For its interior, the Ranger Sport SE comes with a new retractable cup holder on its dashboard. Otherwise, it has the same set of interior features as the regular Sport version. Some notable features nestled in its cabin include the following:

• Single-zone automatic air-conditioning
• Leather and synthetic leather upholstery
• 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Six-piece speaker set
• Manual-adjust front seats
• Smart keyless entry with push-to-start button
• Eight-inch digital gauge cluster

Propelling the new SE variant is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine with the exact output figures as the Everest Sport SE. It also utilizes a six-speed automatic transmission, but it is available with a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. 

Pricing

Pricing for the Ford Everest Sport SE starts at P2.194 million. The Ford Ranger Sport SE, meanwhile, starts at P1.529 million.
