Gas, diesel, kerosene prices roll back tomorrow

MANILA: Oil firms have declared they will lower gasoline prices beginning at midnight. a.m. on September 13th.

Caltex, Cleanfuel, Jetti, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines, Seaoil, and Shell each said separately that they will lower gasoline prices by P0.45 per liter and diesel prices by P1.45 per liter. Prices for kerosene will also be reduced by P1.70 per liter by Caltex, Seaoil, and Shell.

Around the same time as the above fuel companies, Flying V, Phoenix, and Unioil are expected to follow suit.

Oil prices have been reduced for the second straight week by industry players.

With the price changes made last week, the cost of petroleum has increased by a net amount of P26.90 per liter for gasoline, P43.55 for diesel, and P37.65 for kerosene so far this year.

Although local prices continued to decline, Dubai crude closed last week's trading week up 2.89 percent, selling at USD92.78 per barrel.

Due to concerns about demand, China's limits to reduce the number of cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), and mounting worry about a recession, oil prices on the global market remain unpredictable.

However, the Russian President Vladimir Putin's promise to reduce oil and gas shipments to Europe has led to an increase in fuel costs.

Motorists can modify their driving techniques to save fuel. They can opt for a fuel-efficient engine, lighten the load on their car, drive cautiously, keep in mind that speed affects fuel consumption, check the tire pressure in their car, lower the windows, turn off the air conditioning, and combine their journeys.
