Great Wall launched P Series 2020 Pickup globally

The Chinese automaker Great Wall has just released its latest lineup of pickup trucks to the market called the P Series. The global launch of the series will mark the first-ever global pickup truck from the automaker. The new pickup trucks are based on a new platform known as P71.

As per the automaker, the new platform ensures more safety, more comfort, more efficiency and more personalized options for the global customers in comparison to the earlier models. To be more specific on the customized things, the series offers more than 100 variants globally with different drivetrain options, body sizes, and more. An interesting spec added to the new line-up is a multi-link rear suspension instead of a traditional leaf-spring suspension found on most of the pickup trucks.

The front-end of the P Series is quite similar to the current-gen Ford Ranger. The exterior design features a large grille flanked by a slim pair of headlights and small fog lights located on the lower half of the bumper. More styling clues are taken from the Ranger like the shape of tail lights and further in place of common blacked out cladding, the P Series incorporates silver cladding all around.

 

The mechanical bits of the series will offer a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine mated with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and an intelligent AWD system. Till date, nothing has been disclosed on the power generation and torque of the engine. On the inside, the vehicle will have a 6-way powered driver’s seat with heating and dual-zone automatic air conditioning. Other features include adaptive cruise control, intelligent voice control, lane departure warning, and a 360-degree camera.

The company officials stated, “P Series will reshape the global pickup landscape, and be ranked among the world’s top three pickup trucks available”. The Series will be in direct competition with Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and other pickup brands in the market. And the company targets global sales of 3 million units by 2025.
