Holding Ferrari-like Exhaust, 2017 Honda Civic Type R Sedan Spied in Spain
MANILA: Honda has already revealed 2015 Civic Sedan which is equipped with the first 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine. However, the Type R uses a 2.0-litre Turbo engine. The test mule that was supposed to be previewed in the American market has been spied in Spain. The automaker preferred sunny Spain due to good weather. Undoubtedly, Spain becomes one the best destination for the prototype testing.
Going through the build structure and the exterior design lines, it's quite clear that the test mule is made up of several different parts such as Acura headlights, a sedan body and the rear end of a hatchback. But the exhaust remains the most distinctive feature of all, the setup feels like inspired from the Ferrari 458 Italia. In many ways, the US-spec Civic is better than the European model because the US model comes with new safety features and technologically updated equipment. Under the hood lies a single turbocharger that helps the 2.0-liter VTEC to deliver over 300 horsepower of maximum power. The turbo engine is a great utility which will increase the overall productivity of the car. This hot machine is powered with wider tracks, superior brakes and maybe even adaptive suspension. With these offerings by Honda, it is expected that the company is likely to attract huge number of buyers for the Type R.
