Honda CR-Z Finally Unveiled in Japan

MANILA: Finally, the wait is over; the all new Honda CR-Z is out of its cocoon and is revealed in its full charm to the Japanese audience. Two days from now, we showed you the leaked images of this sport compact electric car that has apparently gone viral over the net. And now Honda has made the right move and stepped forward to wrap off the cover from the modified version of its hybrid car.

An interesting piece of information that follows this uncover is that Australian market will not be ushered with the charm of new CR-Z, the car was discontinued because of low sales figures and tough competition for the other ongoing rivals like Hyundai Veloster and Toyota 86. Honda Australia is eyeing on the technologically advanced hybrids like Honda Accord Sport and the most awaited NSX supercar.

All-new CR-Z comes packed with looks, both on the exterior and interior front. The outer body is conferred with a bold front fascia of which a honeycomb-like grille, lower air dam and redesigned headlamps form a part. Sideways, the car now gets stiff character lines and side skirts. At the rear, this three-door hybrid car is fitted with a distinctively styled diffuser that mirrors the front design language. The arrow shaped taillight is a carryover from the previous generation while the metallic roofline adds to its aesthetic appeal is available in blue and black shades.

Inside cabin changes are kept minimal with few advancement like new start/stop button, updated entertainment unit, informative system, and electric parking brake. Honda has also fitted the car with a noise generating system that works on all the three available driving modes.

Under the hood, CR-Z will run on the same old power mill; the 1.5-litre four cylinder engine coupled with an electric motor will produce 97kW of power and 190 Nm of torque. Honda is offering its new creation with a six-speed transmission gear box or else you can allow the CVT to handle all the ratios changing.

Scheduled to go on sale from October, we are sure that with its new mean machine Honda will be able to lure a larger market segment.
