Hyundai Genesis G90 Debut Confirmed for NAIAS 2016

MANILA: The declaration of Hyundai to make its luxury brand, Genesis as a separate automotive brand followed by revealing of Genesis, its first design theme for its first car, and now confirmation by David Zuchowski, on role with Hyundai America as President and CEO of the company that Hyundai Genesis G90 will be debuting at 2016 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS 2016), looks like a puzzle unfolding with events taking place in sequence.

Said to be a replacement of Hyundai Equus, the Hyundai Genesis G90 (known internationally) will arrive by 9th December in showrooms of Korea this year, by name of Genesis EQ 900. The world debut is planned for New Year where on January 11, the Detroit Motor Show will delightfully open doors for it. With its arrival, Hyundai is getting closer to its aim of establishing Genesis as an individual luxury brand. Moreover, Hyundai also announced that it is in plans to roll out 6 more Genesis models by year 2020.

The Hyundai Genesis G90 measures as 5205 mm long, 1915 mm wide, and 1495 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3160 mm. The exterior design has been influenced by Hyundai Vision G Coupe and some of the exterior highlights include LED headlamps, 6-point Genesis grille, C-pillar design, and LED DRL design. The interiors feature modern ERGO seats and the safety front is well taken care of with features like Driver attention alert, Hyundai Variable Control Suspension, Highway Driving Assist, and Active Sound Design.

2016 Hyundai Genesis specs are said to be a 3.3 Lambda V6 Turbo Gdi delivering 370 hp and 52 kg.m of torque, 3.8-litre Lambda V6 Gdi mill producing 334 hp and 40.3 kg.m, and topping the range, a5.0 Tau V8 Gdi propelling 425 hp and 53 kg.m. All these variants are paired with standardized HTRAC AWD system and 8-speed automatic gearbox.
