Hyundai N bags 5th straight win at 24H Nürburgring

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company (HMC)’s N brand took its fifth consecutive victory in the TCR category at the 2025 ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring.

For its 10th straight appearance in the endurance race held last June 21-22 at Nurburg, Germany, the two Hyundai Elantra N TCR (Touring Car Racing) units crossed the checkered flag in a one-two finish — securing its latest victory.

Per Hyundai, the win highlighted the N products’ “superior durability and performance.”

“We are elated with our fifth straight victory in the Nürburgring TCR class and our 10th consecutive year of participation,” Hyundai Vice President and Head of N Brand Management Group Joon Park was quoted as saying.

“Being part of this celebration of endurance, innovation and global collaboration reflects our unwavering commitment to motorsport and our high-performance heritage. It enables us to continue advancing high-performance N brand technology and delivering cars that provide true driving pleasure,” he added.

The company added that since its debut at the 24hr Nürburgring in 2016, it immediately took advantage of the platform to push the capabilities of its production-based N brand vehicles.

“The race also serves as a key data gathering opportunity to improve performance and durability, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence,” Hyundai noted in a statement.

To note, the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife (more known to motorsport scene as “Green Hell”) is a 25.378-kilometer track that is used to test the speed, skill and stamina of both drivers and vehicles.

These are the Hyundai N’s TCR team drivers that won earned one-two spots at the podium:

• Elantra N race car Number 1: Marc Basseng, Manuel Lauck and Christer Joens
• Elantra N race car Number 2: Bryson Morris, Michael Louis, Mason Filippi and Robert Wickens

Aside from being present in the TCR category, Hyundai also marked its entry in the SP3T class with the Elantra N1 Cup car. However, the car was forced to retire from the race after 17 hours due to a rear-end collision with another competitor.

Further, Hyundai teamed up Toyota in hosting a joint booth at the event — demonstrating how motorsport can foster collaboration beyond competition.

The aforementioned partnership builds on the spirit of camaraderie established at the “Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival” held at Korea’s Yongin Speedway in October 2024 and their respective executives attending the final round of the 2024 World Rally Championship (WRC) in Japan.
