Hyundai's Take – Four on Frankfurt Motor Show
MANILA: The South Korean market is well known for its technological advancements, and Hyundai rightly withholds the same tech-driven DNA. And in the coming months, get ready to experience the same DNA effect as Frankfurt will breathe in the tech-inspired air blown out from S. Korea.
Hyundai is ready with a fleet of cars that are meant for a true automobile enthusiast and are all created under its high-performance sub-brand N. If the letter N is bothering you and is forcing you to wonder why this innocent alphabet is associated with the performance line up, well it stands for Namyang. It is Hyundai's technical center outside Seoul.
To the list of cars to be featured in the upcoming motor show are included two prototypes, one is Hyundai's i30 and second is Elantra GT. As per the sources, the new hardcore i30 will be more than just a hardcore version of the four-wheel drive that earlier produced 186 PS from its i30 Turbo. The new N line-up will now get a larger 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that is said to have taken from the RM15 mid-engined concept and is capable of generating 300 PS @ 6,000 rpm and 383 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Also, the car is said to have built on a newly developed modular platform for concept cars. Both the above-mentioned prototypes are expected to take 2 more years to transform into a production version, placing its launch in 2017.
Moving a step further, apart from featuring the above-mentioned cars, will also include the new generation i20 WRC car. This racing car is all set to enter the next season racing championship. With its new and improved car, Hyundai is determined to spruce up its image that is known for reliability, affordability, and technology.
The best is saved for the last, Hyundai has some big plans for the future as the car maker will debut its much-awaited concept N 2025 Vision Turismo at the motor show. The vehicle is designed to show-off the widest array of technology so that the car looks as functional as possible, and spectators can enjoy this tech advancement to the fullest. An important piece of information given by Hyundai spokesperson Angela Hwang is that the car is a pure concept and will never enter the production cycle. So people keep your chequebook back as this baby is not for sale. But if you still wish to enjoy this powerful car then we would suggest you to buy a Sony PlayStation till the year end, as Gran Turismo digital version will race its way to the finishing line in the game.
