The two Porsche Taycans will begin their roles tomorrow in Berlin.
Per the German carmaker, two range-topping Porsche Taycan saloons will make their appearances tomorrow in Berlin, for the ninth round of the 2024 season.
The first Porsche Taycan Formula E safety car will be finished in Purple Sky Metallic and will be fitted with the Weissach package.
With the rear seats removed, the said safety car can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in only 2.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 305 kph. It is also equipped with an Attack Mode that gives it a temporary boost of some 160 horses. The said technology is based on the Porsche 99X Electric, which is the current world-championship-winning Formula E car.

The second safety car will wear a Shade Green Metallic finish without the added performance boost.
“Sustainability and electrification are of great importance to Porsche, which is reflected in our motorsport activities — including the deployment of the Taycan Turbo GT as a safety car. This is symbolic of the fact that we learn from motorsport for series applications. In Formula E, this is especially true of our electric sports cars, for example in energy management. This is another reason why the Taycan has improved in almost every discipline recently,” Porsche Motorsport Vice President Thomas Laudenbach commented.
The two Porsche Taycan Turbo GT safety cars will be maintained by specialists at Manthey based at the Nürburgring. Per the Stuttgart-headquartered carmaker, these experts will install necessary modifications that would make the two electric cars fit for their demanding roles.

These modifications include elements such as warning lights and related electrics, high-tech communication equipment, and fire extinguishers.
Portuguese driver Bruno Correia will remain at the wheel of the safety car.
