Kia Executive Sedan With RWD Spotted While Testing

MANILA: It looks like, Kia is on a serious trail of upgrading its new vehicles, as recently the brand confirmed 2017 Soil to be powered by a turbo charged engine and now an executive sedan with RWD has been caught testing, which might change the game in the respective segment. In 2013, the brand confirmed its plans for RWD flagship sedan to be first introduced in the US and with the spied photos it is clear that the car will soon reach the production phase. Known as CK in the testing phase, this executive sedan will be sharing the same platform as that of Genesis G80 & G90 but with a shorter wheelbase.

The brand has not confirmed on the badging front of this E-segment sedan but probably it might be christened Stinger. The particular platform will also be used for the sports coupe variant of the upcoming model, which will also feature the Real Wheel Drive System. The styling cues were not reflected clearly as the sedan was heavily camouflaged but it is clear from the spied images that the sedan shares the styling cues with Opel GT Concept and Kia Novo Concept.

The short overhangs and tiger nose grille have bestowed this sedan a sporty touch even in the camouflaged avatar and the roofline hints towards a coupe-like structure which is quite similar to the Kia Optima. Under the hood, the sedan will be sharing the same engine as that of G80 & G90, which is a 3.3-litre V6 twin turbo engine, which will be capable enough to deliver a maximum power output of 365 PS. However, Kia has not revealed anything about the launching date of this sedan. Apart from this upcoming sedan, the brand recently introduced its Cadenza at the New York International Show, in order to strengthen its position in the luxury sedan market.
