Kia presents all-new Stonic with introductory price of P675K until Oct. 15

MANILA: Kia Philippines has finally lifted the veil over the all-new Stonic compact crossover that the company has been teasing for the last several months, and also confirms a few of it features.

The top variant, which is the EX, gets LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and also a two-tone color option. All trim levels get projector headlamps.

While it may seem to have modest exterior effects, the Stonic did win the prestigious iF Design and Red Dot Design Awards in 2018, just one year after it went into production.

The cabin is fitted with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen that sends audio to six speakers. It already comes equipped with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Get the benefit of reverse parking sensors, hill start assist, and electronic stability control in the EX grade, but the models share the same powertrain, a 1.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with D-CVVT (Dual Continuous Variable Valve Timing) that puts out 94hp for LX MT and 99hp for LX AT and EX AT.

The LX can come with either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the EX only comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Each Kia Stonic comes with a five-year or 160,000-km warranty, as well as 24/7 roadside assistance free for five years. Roadside assistance would include emergency towing, personal assistance, minor onsite repair, medical assistance and information service.

Best of all, in the next two weeks prior to the launch and until October 15, Kia Philippines is offering a pre-launch discount of P60,000 for the 1.4 LX MT and a P50,000 discount for the 1.4 LX AT and 1.4 EX AT. The official retail price is below, now all you have to do is the math:

• 4 LX 5-speed MT: P735,000
• 4 LX 6-speed AT: P835,000
• 4 EX 6-speed AT: P925,000
