Its cabin gets a bigger infotainment system and a more ergonomic shifter. The latest upgrades to the nameplate lean towards the subtle side and remain in keeping with the sport utility vehicle’s (SUV) rugged, yet refined character.
All enhancements are applied across Land Rover Defender 90, 110, and 130 body designs — including the range-topping Defender Octa.
“More than five years after its introduction, Defender has become an enduring success. With a bloodline that can be traced back to the first Series I of 1948, Defender continues to capture the imagination of our clients. The range now includes everything from a Hard-Top commercial to the epic Defender Octa. With production at full capacity to meet demand, the latest changes are part of our continuous commitment to make adventures even more satisfying. Fresh design enhancements, new colors and an expanded range of accessories follow Defender’s comprehensive upgrade last year, ensuring our iconic 4x4 is better than ever,” Land Rover Defender Managing Director Mark Cameron was quoted as saying.

On that note, here are the newest features the iconic nameplate has to offer:
Cleaner exterior
Outside, the Land Rover Defender gets a new “DEFENDER” badge on the bonnet finished in Silicon Silver. On the fascia, the “Land Rover” oval emblem is now in black (previously green), complemented by a Gloss Black front grille bar.
Flanking the horizontal garnish are redesigned headlamps with a new signature lighting, while the chin gets a new front lower bumper that is also painted, Silicon Silver.
Those familiar with the SUV will notice that the hood ornaments now have a new pattern that appears to be a combination of a square and a circle, which IC Land Automotive Incorporated Vice President Chris Ward wittingly called “squirkle.” These can also be found on the Land Rover Defender’s side vents.
And while we’re on the topic of its side profile, the SUV gets new Gloss Black Defender-branded wheel center caps.
Its rear lights are now flush and have a dark-tinted finish for a clean appearance and enhanced visibility. The move to make the taillight housings uniform and level was apparently done as customers note that dirt gets trapped in the crevices of the taillamp enclosures.
New infotainment, driver-assist technologies
The cabin of the Land Rover Defender is now fitted with a new 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Ward, who demonstrated the capabilities of the 2026 model year SUV, noted that the display is slightly facing the person sitting behind the wheel, for a more driver-centric cockpit.
Just below, the gear shifter was slightly pushed outward, making it more ergonomic.
Slightly tucked in the steering wheel is the new Driver Attention Monitor that is standard on all variants. It contains a driver-facing camera that monitors the driver’s gaze and provides audio-visual alerts to help ensure they are paying attention to the road ahead.
Optional add-ons
Those who want more can have their Land Rover Defenders fitted with optional, functional appointments like a roof rack, deployable or fixed side-steps, or an integrated air compressor.
Customers who will get the Land Rover Defender Octa can opt for a specially-integrated 4,500-kilogram-rated winch with a chopped carbon fiber cover.
For the first time, the nameplate is now available with optional “adaptive off-road cruise control.” Per Land Rover Philippines, it is an evolution of its “all-terrain progress control” and allows the driver to set a desired comfort level when negotiating rough terrain, so they can concentrate on steering the vehicle, thereby improving composure while reducing overall driver effort.
Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition
The Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition is based on the 110 model.
It celebrates the nameplate’s rich history of adventure with a range of recommended expedition accessories and two heritage‑inspired colors that encapsulate its penchant for more demanding undertakings.
These include new Gloss Black 20‑inch alloy wheels shod in all-terrain tires, a dark rear scuff plate, Gloss Black wheelarch protection, and a black front undershield.
For the ultimate off‑road adventure, the Trophy Edition Accessory Pack has been specially developed and includes the Expedition roof rack, providing additional stowage space for gear‑laden journeys, while a black deployable roof ladder makes it easier to access objects stored overhead.
A Gloss Black side-mounted gear carrier provides extra space for muddy, wet, or sandy items. Meanwhile, front and rear classic mud flaps, and a raised air intake for dust filtration complete the package.
Notably, it gets Trophy decals on the hood and rear, as well as graphics on the C-pillars.
Inside, it comes with Trophy illuminated treadplates, Ebony Windsor Leather seats, and laser‑etched endcaps with Trophy branding on the exposed cross-car beam.
The Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition, limited in the Philippines to only three samples, is available exclusively in Deep Sandglow Yellow or Keswick Green.
Pricing
The 2026 Land Rover Defender starts at P6.23 million. Meanwhile, the Trophy edition model has a base price of P9.49 million.
