Land Rover Range Rover Sport Implanted With A New 2.0-litre Engine

MANILA: The British automaker Land Rover is known for producing power-packed off-roading vehicles, all across the world. In this series, the brand is all set to bring a big change in its highly appreciated Range Rover Sport with a new 2.0-litre 4-inline Ingenium turbo engine. With capabilities of SUV and performance like a sports car, the new Range Rover Sport is committed to deliver better performance and efficiency with this new turbo unit under its striking hood. The company has not revealed if any other changes than the power-unit are given to this swanky SUV, but the auto enthusiasts are speculating a couple of tweaks in and out.

The 2.0-litre turbo unit indeed sounds little in comparison to what the Range Rover Sport already has in its trims. But then the manufacturer is smart enough to ensure that there is enough power and torque offered with the new engine to meet the expectations. The new engine is a low-pressure turbocharger with integrated manifold and variable geometry design which delivers a potent result counting to 236 hp of maximum power along with 500 Nm of peak torque. The engine is expected to copy the acceleration data from the 5.0-litre V8 supercharged gasoline engine which sprints a peak power of 550 PS. On a practical note, the new engine may take more than the 4.5 seconds of time recorded by the 5.0-litre engine while accelerating from naught to 100 kmph which is still under the testing sessions. Just like Land Rover has introduced a new 2.0-litre engine for its Range Rover Sport, Mitsubishi has also introduced an MIVEC engine for the first time for its Strada recently.

Though the British automaker has not revealed much on the modifications in styling and specs part, but housing some advanced technologies like Advanced Tow Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Intelligent Speed limiter are on the cards. The company is yet to announce the price and other details for the new Range Rover Sport and the prospective customers, who are already excited with the news of this new engine coming up, would have to wait for some more days.
