M140i Finale Edition is the last RWD BMW 1 Series

MANILA: The six-pot BMW 1 Series which features rear-wheel-drive is set to be replaced with a newer version. However, the next generation hatchback will come with a front-wheel-drive layout only. And in order to bid adieu to the RWD 1 Series,

the German auto giant has unveiled a special version of the car dubbed as BMW M140i Finale Edition. Staying true to the special edition norms, the BMW M140i Finale Edition features some cosmetic changes as well. On the outside, the car features blacked-out exhaust tips and front kidney grille. The hatch rides on 18-inch alloy which can be had in three different patterns.

Features like a powered sunroof, an 8.8-inch infotainment system equipped with a Harman-Kardon sound system, LED headlamps, and adaptive M suspension all make their way to the 1 Series special edition. Talking about the mechanicals, the BMW M140i Finale Edition source its power from a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six motor.

This engine is capable of pumping out 335 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 500 Nm. An eight-speed automatic transmission takes care of the power delivery to the wheels. While the top speed has been electronically limited to 250 kmph, a 0-100 kmph run takes no longer than 4.6 seconds.

We are certainly going to miss the RWD 1 Series, aren’t we? But what arrives in the world has to depart someday, right?
