MANILA: While the stars of the show at the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026 were definitely the automobiles that were launched at the four-day event, checking out the latest car care and accessory items can be considered a worthy side quest for attendees.

Car audio
It is no secret that most car guys are also audiophiles. Sometimes, long drives are better undertaken without a cabin companion, with the entire trip — as well as the scenery — soaked in with one’s favorite tunes; be it worship songs, rap, rock, or even anime opening scores.
For those looking to upgrade their stock car audio, the booth featuring JBL and Harman/Kardon was a good place to start.
Visitors were even treated to a display of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5 (“pizza pie” model) at the kiosk. As a Lancer (1996 GLi variant, commonly referred to as the “itlog”) owner himself, the writer is pleased to see old cars represented at an event where the scene stealers are high-tech, modern cars.
Horns, wipers
Some of the most commonly replaced parts in vehicles are horns and wipers. For one, most stock car horns either sound cute or lack the bass most owners want. As for the latter, they are bound to wear out, especially if one parks their vehicles outside, without the aid of a shade.
Clustered in the same space as the aforementioned JBL and Harman/Kardon is Japanese aftermarket manufacturer PIAA Corporation. The brand is known for its products found on both economy passenger cars and sportier performance models.
Further, German brand Bosch is also present to provide car owners with aftermarket solutions for European vehicles and other Asian brands alike.
Lastly, ACDelco stays present in such gatherings to showcase its wide array of aftermarket products, which include — you guessed it — horns and wipers.
Fluids
Consumable products like various types of fluids were also aplenty at MIAS 2026.
The fold was primarily headed by Petron, considered a major player in the field.
Aside from automotive engine oils and coolants, the brand displayed its motorcycle-specific fluids for two-wheeler enthusiasts to see.
Other prominent names included Eni (formerly known as Agip), Aisin (a marque primarily owned by the Toyota Group), and Bendix (which also specializes in automotive and motorcycle brakes).
Tires, wheels
MIAS has been one of the best places to visit when tire and wheel shopping since there are plenty of displays, and some brands even give event-specific discounts.
Car owners in the market for a new set of wheels were able to check out Team Ridemax’s booth. Meanwhile, those buying tires flocked around the Sailun and Momo stalls.
Care products, accessories
Laslty, MIAS 2026 was also a cradle for automotive beauty products and accessories.
To kick things off, Sonax presented its line of cleaning and protective products. The brand had plenty to showcase and offered something for almost every type of car owner.
Meguiar’s and Turtle Wax, too, had a similar selection of items.
One notable booth was SmartMat’s. They put forward quality plastic matting that also had an integrated carpet. These are great, since they help preserve the inner lining of the car’s floor by stopping dirt, mud, and liquid from penetrating the surface, which we all know can also be the cause of mold.
Car owners who are particular about how their ride’s interior smells were able to pick a good scent from Air Spencer.
Finally, Hot Wheels introduced a new line of car accessories for Filipino car owners. These include sun shades, carpets, air fresheners, and steering wheel covers.
The writer purchased a set and was not disappointed. Packaged with it was a Hot Wheels die-cast model, which the store attendant explained was rare since it was not for sale and was only intended to be a freebie.
The steering wheel cover fits like a glove on the driving wheel of a 2025 Honda BR–V S CVT, and the air freshener complements the “fiery” accent quite well. It reminded the author of the iconic “confetti” pattern used on some automotive aftermarket products in the 90s.
