Suzuki PH upgrades pre-delivery inspection facility

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) has expanded its pre-delivery inspection facility, bolstering its ability to meet market demand in the country while meeting global standards.

Completed as of December 2025, the company’s improved facility is within the company’s existing space in Canlubang, Laguna.

While the investment for the project was not disclosed, the Japanese automaker’s arm in the country shared that the initiative covered the concreting of over 36,000 square meters of the stockyard for completely built-up units, a three-lane PDI facility equipped with standardized lighting and inspection pits, two accessory installation lanes, a Body Repair and Painting and Technical Repair Facility, three accessory warehouses, and a centralized office to improve operational coordination.

In a statement, the firm explained that safety enhancements such as a concreted stockyard, improved spacing, blind spot reduction measures, and upcoming pit occupancy sensors further strengthen operations.

“The expansion of our PDI facility reflects Suzuki Philippines’ continued commitment to being truly ‘By Your Side’ for every Filipino customer,” SPH President Koichiro Hirao was quoted as saying.

“Through strategic investments in infrastructure and processes, we ensure every vehicle meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability,” he added.

The company also mentioned that the upgrade is driven by the growing demand for fuel-efficient and reliable vehicles.

For his part, SPH Director and General Manager for the Automobile Division Norihide Takei noted that the updated portion of the SPH headquarters immediately guarantees the delivery of vehicles in optimal condition—clean, safe, and road-ready—minimizing post-delivery concerns. This will also ensure improved inventory flow, and more reliable vehicle allocation for dealer partners.

Complementing the upgrades to the facility are the continuous personnel training and employee welfare programs, as well as the regular audits conducted by Suzuki Motor Corporation and global subsidiaries.

Additionally, SPH shared that the facility is ready to handle upcoming models, including electric vehicles (the first expected to be the Suzuki e-Vitara).

Relatedly, SPH is also eyeing to further upgrades such as a Suzuki-standard paint booth, portable fueling equipment, bird deterrent systems, and green initiatives like solar power installations.
