Mini PH debuts special 1965 Victory Edition 3-Door

MANILA: Mini Philippines has introduced the Mini 1965 Victory Edition 3-Door, an exclusive model based on the Mini John Cooper Works (JCW) 3-Door that celebrates its motorsport heritage.

With only one unit available for the local market, this special edition was already spoken for by its future owner ahead of its local debut.

The model pays tribute to the British brand’s historic victory at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, where the legendary Mini Cooper S was driven by Timo Mäkinen and co-driver Paul Easter. Per the manufacturer, this achievement helped cement its reputation for agility, performance, and capability in challenging conditions.

“Winning in Monte Carlo in 1965 wasn’t just a victory, it was also a milestone that shaped MINI’s identity,” said Willy Tee Ten, President of MINI Philippines. “The Mini 1965 Victory Edition brings together the heart and soul of that moment with a modern drive packed with loads of fun.”

Based on the Mini John Cooper Works, the Victory Edition produces 231 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. With this output, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.1 seconds.

The Mini 1965 Victory Edition 3-Door features Chili Red exterior paintwork complemented by a white stripe running from the bonnet to the roof and rear. A distinctive white “52” graphic on both sides pays homage to the racing number of the victorious 1965 rally car.

Also available to the model are a Glazed White roof, panoramic roof, and a “1965” marking on the C-pillar. Further adding motorsport-inspired touches to the car are its floating center hubs and JCW tire valve caps. 

Inside, the special edition features a red-and-anthracite JCW-themed cabin, complemented by edition-specific details. The door sills carry “1965” lettering and references to the historic rally victory.

The sports steering wheel and center-console storage box also feature “1965” markings, while the key cap carries the racing number of the victorious Mini Cooper S.

Notably, the special-edition Mini will be showcased via a video walk-through on the brand’s official social media channels on August 29, 2026. And apart from the 1965 Victory Edition 3-Door, Mini Philippines said it will introduce three more special-edition models before the end of the year.
