NBA-themed F1 cars to mark NBA 75th anniversary at 2021 United States GP
MANILA: The National Basketball Association (NBA) has collaborated with Formula 1 to promote and commemorate NBA's 75th anniversary season and F1's return to the US with the 2021 US Grand Prix.
For the US Grand Prix and the NBA’s 75th Anniversary season, images of F1 cars wearing custom liveries, which represent all 30 NBA teams, will be posted on NBA and F1 social channels. The first 10 cars showcasing the Central and Pacific Divisions were unveiled today.
The 2021 F1 US GP will take place on October 24, and will be staged at the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, Texas. F1 has been holding races at the Texas track since 2012. F1 will be returning to the iconic track following a two-year break due to COVID-19.
The drivers will compete to make the most free throws out of 10, with the winner granted US$20,000 to donate to their charity of choice.
NBA said the collaboration will "bring together the broad, global fanbases of the NBA and F1."
