New Ford EcoSport 2018 with turbo engine revealed in the Philippines

MANILA:  After its launch in China back in 2017, the upgraded version of the Ford EcoSport has been officially launched in the local market. With a redesigned body and featuring numerous new technologies, the carmaker is seeking to maintain their dominance in the mini SUV segment.

As mentioned above, the new EcoSport gets a makeover, and it now comes with a newly designed front grille with a bigger pair of headlights. The daytime running LED lights, and redesigned fog lamps along with front bumper are some additions in the new EcoSport.

If we look at the rear, the changes are next to nothing. However, Ford installed a different looking spare tire carrier and a reshaped bumper. Also, the new set of alloy wheels gives the car a classy look.

Looking at the size, the all-new 2018 EcoSport is now 4325 mm long,1765 mm wide, and 1656 mm tall. The wheelbase measures 2519 mm with a ground clearance of 209 mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 52-litre.

Peeping inside the interiors, the cabin of the new Ford EcoSport gets a completely new look. It now houses a new tablet touchscreen display, upgraded cooling controls, reshaped centre stack and ergonomic centre console. In addition, the vehicle now has a three-spoke steering wheel layered with a soft-touch covering, multi-info display, newly designed seats, and 25 storage compartments.

The all-new 2018 Ecosport now uses SYNC 3 infotainment system that is integrated with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, FM radio, Aux, Bluetooth and USB. Furthermore, the car also features automatic climate control, power sunroof, six-speaker audio system, automatic wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and automatic headlights.

Powering the EcoSport 2018, there is a huge 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine that produces 123 PS at 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 150 Nm at 4500 rpm. The Powershift dual-clutch is now coupled with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. A five-speed manual transmission is also available on the base model.
