Nissan announces its lineup of motorsports programs for 2026
Company to continue competing in Formula E, Super GT
MANILA: Nissan Motor Corporation Limited and Nissan Motorsports and Customizing Corporation Limited has announced their lineup of motorsports engagements for this year.

Nissan works programs
Formula E
The Yokohama-headquartered brand will be entering the 2025-2026 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The aforementioned counts as the twelfth season of Formula E, and it will feature Nissan’s e-4ORCE 05 GEN3 Evo cars, driven by Oliver Rowland (#1) and Norman Nato (#23).
The 2026 portion of Formula E’s twelfth season has already kicked off back in January 2026 at Mexico City. Upcoming rounds for the Championship will see the Nissan Formula E team test their mettle in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Super GT GT500 Class
Nissan and NMC are likewise fielding three teams to compete in the 2026 Super GT series, specifically in the GT500 class. Specifically, the company will be entering three Nissan Z NISMO GT500 cars under Team Impul, Team NISMO, and Kondo Racing. All vehicles are fitted with Bridgestone tires for this season.

Customer Racing Programs
GT3 Program
Per Nissan, the company, along with NMC, will continue to support the Super GT GT300 series, the GT World Challenge Asia, and the SRO Japan Cup in 2026.
All of the said races utilize the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 race car.
North American customer racing programs
For the North American racing scene, Nissan will retain its current collaboration with the Forsberg Racing team, which is engaged in Formula Drift and various off-road competitions.
With regard to Formula Drift, the Forsberg Racing team is set to add a third Nissan Z drift car. Doing so will add two new drivers to compete in the FD Pro Spec series.

Other programs
Other programs Nissan and NMC will continue to back this 2026 include the Super GT GT300 class, and its engine supply program. The aforementioned currently involves England-based Gibson Technology, which is jointly developing a new engine for the next Nissan Le Mans Prototype 2. Per Nissan, we won’t be seeing this new Prototype car until 2028.
Nissan further shared that it will continue its collaboration with the Nissan Automobile Technical College for the Nissan Mechanic Challenge - a contest which will see Nissan dealership technicians and students immerse themselves in Super GT GT300 and Super Taikyu Series.
On the one hand, Nissan’s NISMO Driving Academy will see a temporary suspension of activities for 2026. No other details for this development were shared by the brand.
