Per Nissan, the agreement with Chery South Africa will also result in the majority of the employees being offered on “substantially similar terms and conditions.”In a statement, the Japanese automaker announced that its manufacturing assets in Rosslyn — land, buildings and associated assets of the Nissan facilities (including the nearby stamping plant) — will be turned over to Chinese marque’s arm by the middle of 2026.
In line with this, Nissan noted that the agreement will also result in Chery South Africa offering employment to the majority of the former’s workers on “substantially similar terms and conditions.”

Following the takeover of Chery South Africa, Nissan assured that it will continue to offer vehicles and services to customers in the area.

Further Nissan South Africa revealed that it would bring in several new models for fiscal year 2026 — which will include the Tekton and Patrol.
