The Next-gen Nissan Elgrand uses the third-generation e-POWER powertrain.Per the Yokohama-headquartered car brand, the model is due for release in its home country in 2026. As such, the one shown at this year’s JMS is a prototype version. Regardless, the marque has already highlighted several characteristics of the Elgrand.
For starters, the model uses the carmaker’s third-generation e-Power hybrid system. Updates include a rear torque bias for a more engaging drive and active pitch suppression to reduce car sickness among occupants. Likewise, the system is said to actively reduce body roll, providing a flat, smooth ride across a variety of road conditions.
Inside, the model comes with a three-row layout with zero gravity captain seats, leather and woodgrain accents, and Kumiko-inspired decorations on its seats and door panels. The model also comes with two 14.3-inch displays, with one functioning as a digital gauge cluster, while the other as an infotainment system. Sound, meanwhile, is fed inside the cabin via a Bose 22-piece speaker set.
Safety-wise, the model will come standard with the latest version of the ProPILOT advanced driver assist systems (ADAS). The ProPILOT 2.0 will also be offered as an optional package for the next-generation Elgrand and is set to provide the vehicle with hands-free highway driving and lane-change assist.
