Omoda, Jaecoo NEV sales breach 600k-unit mark worldwide

MANILA: Omoda and Jaecoo’s worldwide sales for new energy vehicles (NEV) have already exceeded 600,000 units, the company announced.

In a statement, the Chery-owned firms shared that the milestone was achieved as early as July 2025 (in a span of 27 months) — with the help of its market footprint that covers 47 countries.

With that, they are claiming that they are the “fastest-growing dark horse in the global automotive industry.”

Omoda and Jaecoo’s presence outside its home country started in Spain then expanded into other European countries namely Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom. In just over two years, the brand's market footprint has expanded to Australia, Central and South America, and Asia-Pacific.

Last July, Omoda and Jaecoo’s retail performance in the electrified vehicle segment showed strength by selling 9,192 units — a seven-fold increase compared to July 2024’s churn.

Leading the thrust is the Jaecoo 7 SHS — with sales exceeding 10,000 units for several consecutive months.

To recall, the aforementioned model was formally launched in the Philippines last month after being  previewed at the Manila International Auto Show 2025.

Here’s what the Jaecoo 7 SHS offers to customers.

• Touchscreen infotainment system (13.2- or 14.8-inch) with voice control function paired with a six- or eight-speaker set-up
• Dual zone air-conditioning system
• Wireless charger

Powering the Jaecoo J7 SHS is equipped with an OJ Super Hybrid System made up of an electric motor that moves the front wheels that is paired to a fifth-generation 1.5-liter direct inject turbo gasoline engine (acting as range extender).

The aforementioned drivetrain — which offers Full Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Energy Recovery (regen) drive modes — has a dedicated hybrid transmission and an 18.3-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. Such a mill is capable of providing:

Based on the Verification Range Test that the Automobile Association Philippines conducted earlier this year, the vehicle exceeded the published extended range of more than 1,200 kilometers (km) after its evaluators covered 1,488.8 kilometers on a full fuel tank and a single charge.
