PITX & LTO partners for the ‘LTO on Wheels’

MANILA: The operator of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) together with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) team up to provide basic LTO-related services through the “LTO on Wheels” which will be parked at the PITX compound.

The LTO on Wheels is a mobile service of LTO where Filipinos can process select LTO transactions like issuance of student permit, renewal of driver’s license, free printing of the 5-year validity of driver’s license card, and even motor vehicle registration. Besides bringing government services closer to the public, the aim of the LTO on Wheels is to prevent or lessen ‘fixers’ that are rampant in LTO offices.

In a statement, PITX General Manager Mariano Arroyo said with the partnership, “PITX aims to make commuting friendlier, while LTO wants to reach out to motorists. Both of us have objectives that benefit our fellow Filipinos, so we’re really supporting each other and working together to make things happen.”

Arroyo thinks that the strategic location of PITX is the value proposition of the partnership that can bring government services closer to the public. Last month alone, the land port recorded an average weekly foot traffic of more than 50,000. This number is bound to get exponentially higher as more bus routes are set to open.

This means that for the thousands of Filipino commuters who spend time in PITX, the LTO on Wheels will be a convenient way to process their LTO-related transactions without having to go to the main offices of the said government agency. Arroyo adds, “hopefully, this partnership opens more opportunities of working together towards the fulfillment of our commitment of convenience for Filipinos.”

LTO on Wheels is parked at PITX Gate 1, 2nd level on October 9 and 10, October 16 and 17, and October 23 and 24.
