Soon-to-be retailed Jaecoo EJ6 reaches PH shores

MANILA: The initial batch of the Jaecoo EJ6 that will be retailed in the Philippines has finally arrived.

In a statement, Jaecoo Philippines shared that the fully-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) arrived in the country in December 2024 following its appearances at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit October and Auto Focus Test Drive Festival in October and November, respectively.

Per Jaecoo Philippines, the arrival of the units “is poised to cement the rising brand’s position as a key player in the sustainable mobility shift in the market.”

The first examples of the Jaecoo EJ6 that reached Philippine soil are the four-wheel-drive trims powered by the mill set-up stated below:

With the aforementioned and an all-aluminum body, the Jaecoo EJ6 can reportedly accelerate 0-100 kilometers per hour in less than seven seconds.

In addition, the vehicle can be juiced up from 30 to 80 percent in 30 minutes using an 80-kilowatt fast charger.

“The EJ6 is the first EV offering of the Jaecoo brand in the market and bringing it to the Philippines is one of the big steps we’re taking to cement our presence in the country,” Omoda and Jaecoo Motor Philippines Incorporated noted.

“More than a display of the Jaecoo brand’s unique automotive engineering DNA, the arrival of EJ6 represents the bold stride we’re taking in introducing an off-road ready all-electric vehicle in the Philippines. The EJ6 is here to meet demands for advanced, powerful, and sustainable off-road mobility solutions,” the local distributor added.

The Jaecoo EJ6 has the following dimensions:

• Wheelbase (in mm): 2,715

It features a boxy look that matches the inverted L-shaped front illumination, huge front bumpers, extended wheel arches, as well as black accents found on the pillars, and side mirrors.

For its cabin, the Jaecoo EJ6 is outfitted with a 9.2-inch instrument panel, 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, 50-watt Qi wireless charger, panoramic glass roof, and an optional 12-speaker Infinity sound system.

The Chinese automaker’s local arm still has yet to announce the model’s full specifications and pricing.
