Subaru Forester Finally Bows at MIAS 2016

MANILA: After enticing the crowd at the recently concluded Bangkok International Motor Show and marking its debut in ASEAN region, the updated Subaru Forester 2016 is finally here at Manila International Auto Show to flaunt its striking looks and super luxurious cabin. The Subaru crossover has undergone a variety of styling and tech upgrades from its preceding model.

The modifications done to the Forester 2016 include an upgraded front, which accounts for a new grille, refreshed steering responsive headlamps with DRLs and bumper design, Moving further towards the rear profile, it gets better with new design of rims and the wrap-around tail lights finally at the back imparts a clean ending to the crossover. The crossover has a new platform that has been stiffened while the dampers and coil springs have been retuned to provide an unmatched experience from the word go.

Talking about the changes inside the cabin, it has been powered with sound insulation for keeping the noise inside equal to zero. In addition to this, there are updated head unit and LCD cluster display.

Under the hood, it gets a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine on its 2.0i L and 2.0i Premium while the topmost trim, XT underpins a new FA20-DIT engine. The naturally aspirated engine is capable of generating a max power of 150 PS whereas the turbocharged mill is good enough for 241 PS.

Subaru adds features like steering responsive headlights and PIN code access system to the 2.0i-Premium and XT variants giving it an edge over others in the crossover market of Philippines. The PIN access system allows the driver an easy access to the car without the actual key. If in any case the driver forgets the key inside the car then he/she can enter the new Forester by entering a code into the trunk lid’s button, which indeed is impressive from the Japanese automaker. The steering responsive headlights play a crucial role enhancing the visibility around the corners.
