Suzuki PH, Des Strong Motors joins the 2025 International Coastal Cleanup Drive

MANILA: The Marine, Automobile, and Motorcycle divisions of Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH), together with its Visayas and Mindanao dealer partner DES Strong Motors Corporation, have joined the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Drive 2025. 

The massive coastal cleanup activity was held in Panglao, Bohol, and it highlights SPH’s dedication to environmental protection and stewardship, as well as sustainable community engagement. 

Notably, this year’s ICC was led by The Bellevue Resort, and in collaboration with SPH participants, it attracted over 1,200 individuals, including students, community groups, local government units, and numerous other companies and organizations. 

SPH’s ICC delegation, in particular, was led by General Manager for Aftersales Service and Marine Division Yukio Sato, together with Director and General Manager for Automobile Division Norihide Takei. 

Altogether, participants from SPH and DES Strong Motors cleaned up a two-kilometer stretch of shoreline. Additionally, an Underwater Team conducted marine debris removal, while Plastic Free Bohol ensured proper waste segregation. 

Altogether, the 2025 ICC managed to collect 194 sacks of non-biodegradable waste, comprising plastics, glass, metal, and hazardous materials.

Latest SPH updates

Apart from actively conducting corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities like the 2025 ICC, SPH’s automotive division also introduced the Fronx to the local market. 

As of this writing, the all-new Fronx five-seater crossover has a price ranging from P1.059 million-P1.299 million across three variants. 

Under the hood of the Suzuki Fronx is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine equipped with mild-hybrid technology. At maximum, the top-spec Suzuki Fronx SPX can generate up to 98 horsepower and 135 Newton-meters of torque. 

The latest Suzuki motorcycle to be launched locally, meanwhile, is the GSX-8T and the GSX-8TT. The two retro-modern two-wheelers are propelled by 776 cubic-centimeter (CC) parallel-twin double overhead cam (DOHC) engines paired with a six-speed transmission. 

Price-wise, the Suzuki GSX-8T retails at P699,000, while the GSX-8TT is priced at P729,000.
