This LPG-powered vehicle is available straight from the factory, no conversion needed
MANILA: Romanian automaker Dacia, a subsidiary of Renault, has launched a dual-fuel powertrain that runs both on petrol and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) called Bi-Fuel.

This is the automobile we needed last decade when auto-LPG conversion was all the rage, but it’s never too late to make a wish list.

Several Dacia models come with this technology and includes the compact SUV Duster seen in the photo. All these come with the badge TCe 100 Bi-Fuel.

It uses a three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged engine that can use both petrol and LPG or a combination of both. Dacia claims it gets higher torque with LPG as fuel. Output is 101hp.

This is a great option as the price of gasoline is currently around P47.57 per liter, diesel at P34.33 per liter, but LPG is only at P26.45 per liter.
The automaker touts high fuel efficiency, which leads to bigger savings, and lower emissions as well.

A photo shows that how, with just a button, the driver can switch between LPG and petrol. The petrol tank has a 50-liter capacity while the LPG tank hold 42 liters. With both used, range is at 998 kilometers.
The brand currently caters to the European market for now but hopefully the interest from our market is strong enough to land us a few of these Bi-Fuel units.
