Toyota Motor PH starts retail ops for Land Cruiser FJ

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially started retail sales for the all-new Land Cruiser FJ. This comes after its initial local appearance at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show. 

According to the Japanese marque’s local arm, the Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) - based off-roader is now available at all Toyota dealerships nationwide with the following prices:

Moreover, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is available in Smoky Blue, Oxide Bronze Mica, Attitude Black Mica, and Platinum White Pearl Mica. 

Notably, Platinum White Pearl Mica comes with a P15,000 premium over its suggested retail price.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ: specs, features

Propelling the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is a 2.7-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that is capable of producing up to 161 horsepower and 246 Newton-meters of torque. The said engine goes together with a six-speed automatic gearbox, a part-time 4x4 system, a locking rear differential, and a limited-slip differential. 

Supporting the Land Cruiser FJ’s ladder-frame chassis are front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension systems. 

For its exterior, the Toyota-made sport utility vehicle (SUV) comes with a boxy shape with short overhangs. These elements are enhanced further by chunky wheel arches and a set of 18-inch (alloy) or 17-inch (steel) wheels. 

On the top-spec VX, it also comes with roof rails and side steps. Both trims, however, come standard with protective skid plates and LED lighting fixtures.

Inside the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is a five-seater layout equipped with leather upholstery, an automatic climate control system, folding rear seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The driver, meanwhile, has access to a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a seven-inch digital gauge cluster, a hand-operated manual parking brake, a standard (PRND) gear shifter, and a lot of physical buttons for most (4x4 features) driving functions. 

Handling on-board entertainment and navigation for the Land Cruiser FJ is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

Safety-wise, the model comes with a passive kit that is on par with most SUV nameplates in the market today. These are supported by the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (VX) advanced driver-assist systems.
