Toyota to stage Vios Cup 2023 Leg 3 this weekend

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines will stage the third and last leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup 2023 this Saturday, November 11.

It will take place at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga where event-goers and attendees are promised a weekend of fun motorsport activities.

To begin with, participants will race in a one-and-a-half-hour endurance race, which will award each racer double points.

A total of 30 racers across the three classes — Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional — will be at the grid at the same time and will each have a mandatory pitstop, bringing the competition to the next level of thrill and excitement.

These include Super Sporting Class drivers Red Diwa, Lord Seno, Joaquin Garrido, Gerard Loy, Troy Montero, John Dizon, Bryan Co, Royce Sarmiento, Ian Rosales, and season newcomer Jacob Ang.

Likewise, a blend of seasoned and fresh drivers will be participating in the race’s Sporting Class, namely Alan Palacios, Russel Cabrera, Michael Keilani Jordan, Jay Lai, Bern Corpino, Marky Young, and Maila Alivia. Father and son Darrell Garbes and Jiro Garbes as well as Golden Wheel Awards Foundation Driver of the Year Miguel Quiñones will also be joining.

Contenders Jarond Mesina, Alain Alzona, Bong Garbes, Paolo Ayo, Chris Gleeson, Rich Lim, and Paul Ang will be competing in the Promotional Class. Similarly, celebrities Enzo Pineda and Ryan Agoncillo will also take part in the fun as well as Julia Delos Angeles, who started her Vios Cup journey at just 16 years old.

Meanwhile, Macoy Dubs, Megan Young, and Benedict Cua will look to add excitement and competition to the Autocross Challenge. With them are Ezra Domingo, Genesis Redido, Apple David, Arianne Bautista, Reph Bangsil, Migy Romulo, Bianca Yao, Carla Lizardo, and Lexi Mendiola.

To be staged during the event is a drifting exhibition, which will feature Toyota Gazoo Racing Team’s Ryan Agoncillo as well as local talents Luis Gono and Alex Perez. Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup media class alumni Jamil Lacuna, Jose Altoveros, and Pablo Salapantan will also be back on the tracks this leg in an exhibition Autocross Challenge.

Gracing the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup 2023 activity area will be the brand’s GR-S models such as the Fortuner GR-S and Rush GR-S.

Games and activities from the event sponsors also await visitors.

Finally, up-and-coming indie band Sunkissed Lola will perform to wrap up the event.
