Volkswagen PH unveils 2021 Santana

MANILA: Volkswagen Philippines brings in the latest edition of its budget-friendly subcompact sedan, the Volkswagen Santana. The sedan now offers an upgraded version of the features and amenities enjoyed by previous Santana model owners.

The German-engineered sedan is motivated by a 1.5-liter engine that delivers a maximum power output of 111ps and a peak torque of 145Nm. The vehicle’s power plant is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2021 Santana uses BlueMotion technology, which results in low fuel consumption.

The Santana still comes in two variants: the Volkswagen Santana 180 MPI AT S and the Volkswagen Santana 180 AT SE. The sedan is designed with a long wheelbase to provide premium comfort and space to its occupants. The SE variant gets upgraded exterior features including automatic headlights with Leaving Home and Coming Home functions, front fog lamps, intermittent control wipers with rain sensor, alloy wheels, and a sunroof.

The Santana’s interior provides upgraded comfort as it is upholstered with cozy leather and fabric seats with a front center armrest and height adjust function. The cabin’s front and rear doors are equipped with pockets and bottle holders. Other interior features include front and rear reading lights and a multifunction steering wheel with cruise control. The SE variant gets a touchscreen infotainment system with AM/FM radio and USB and Bluetooth connectivity function. Customers can also avail of an optional seven-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Both Santana variants are equipped with dual front airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS), and anti-slip regulation (ASR). The SE variant comes with additional safety features including driver and front passenger side airbags and rear parking distance control. Santana buyers can take advantage of the brand’s after sales services including the three-year/100,000-km warranty (whichever comes first), annual preventive maintenance service, and 24/7 emergency roadside assistance.

The Volkswagen Santana comes in three different body colors: Polar White, Reflex Silver, and Deep Black. Pricing starts at P755,000.
