Will The Ford Focus Make a Comeback to PH?

MANILA: Ford has reportedly trademarked the Focus nameplate in the Philippines in October 2022, and last March, the trademark was officially registered. This could possibly mean that Ford Focus will return to the local market.

In June 2022, the all-new Ford Focus was launched in China, available in sedan and hatchback models.

The China-spec Ford Focus is powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 174hp and 243Nm of torque.

The engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the vehicle comes with an “Overboost” mode that increases the maximum torque to 270Nm.

The Ford Focus can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 7.9 seconds.

In terms of looks, the China-spec Focus features a muscular exterior and a sporty, minimalist interior with a large 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system.

It won’t be surprising if Ford Philippines decides to bring back the Focus considering that there has been no small car in its portfolio for a while. Its appealing looks and powerful engine will surely attract many Filipino car buyers.
