Would 2020 Ford Puma be the successor of the EcoSport?

MANILA: From being a small coupe to now a subcompact crossover, the Ford Puma has come a long way. Loaded with some appealing looks, amazing cargo space, and a mild-hybrid powertrain, the 2020 Ford Puma is set to take the automobile space by storm. However, with more and more automakers jumping into the SUV and crossover waters, the battle this time around is going to be a little more difficult for the all-new Puma.

Talking about the 2020 Ford Puma’s appearance, the American crossover gets a sloping roofline, high-gloss foglamp housings, matte black grille, 17- to 19-inch alloy wheels, and a total of ten color options. On the inside of the 2020 Ford Puma, we find a flat-bottom steering wheel, alloy pedals, aluminium shifter, black headliner, and partial leather seats.

Some of the amenities, however, may differ depending on the variant as the new Puma will be offered in two trims, namely ST-Line and Titanium. Moving on, the 2020 Puma comes with a 456-litre cargo space that Ford claims is the “best-in-class”. The huge cargo space also has a name for itself - Ford MegaBox.

On to the 2020 Ford Puma mechanicals, the crossover houses under its hood a 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost gasoline-fed engine. The two variants of the engine produce 125 PS and 155 PS of maximum power, respectively. The mill also features a belt-driven integrated starter/generator (BISG) that allows the powertrain train to recover energy and feed it to the 48-volt lithium-ion air-cooled battery pack.

Safety features are ample on the newest crossover by Ford. All of the blind spot information system active park, adaptive cruise control, speed sign recognition, and lane keep assist are present. The 2020 Ford Puma also gets the Ford CoPilot360 that comes with 3 radars and 2 cameras for observing the crossover’s surroundings. Ford has launched the Puma in the European market and we hope for the crossover to make its way to other parts of the world sooner than later.
