Yes, the Kia Stonic is now here!
MANILA: Kia Philippines finally unveiled yesterday the newest addition to its portolio, model, the Kia Stonic — a vehicle seen to be consistent with the brand's “Power to Surprise” mantra.
The virtual launch was spearheaded by the triumvirate of the Korean marque’s local arm of executives, namely AC Industrials Chairman and CEO Arthur Tan, Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada, and AC Motors Automotive Group President Antonio “Toti” Zara III.
Tan shared his strong confidence in the new Stonic, claiming that in its bid to be one of the major players in the sector, the Stonic will be a frontrunner for Kia, along with other volume sellers like the Kia K2500, Seltos, and Soluto.
The new Stonic crossover is expected to suit the contemporary demands of the active, young, and adventurous trendsetters and buyers who want to convey their unique taste in aesthetics and design, while upholding the catchphrase, “Style that is ionic.”
Designed by Kia Chief Designer Peter Schreyer, the trendy crossover expresses its European design language through its crisp lines and compact footprint combined with an iconic tiger nose grille. This new design gained recognition from the world-renowned iF Design and Red Dot Awards.
This new Kia model is 4,100mm long, 1,735mm wide, and 1,533mm tall to catch the attention of anyone, while enabling it to be a comfortable vehicle for daily driving on city roads. It also boasts of 16-inch alloy wheels that contribute to its sporty appeal.
The new Stonic can be availed in five signature color options appearance, namely, the two-tone Black/Flash Yellow, Black/Flame Orange, and Black/Clear White (exclusive for the top variant EX), Extreme Blue (provided in three variants), Clear White (for LX variants), and Prime Red.
Aside from being a trendy looking crossover, the new Stonic is said to deliver excellent performance through its 1.4-liter dual continuous variable valve timing (CVVT) engine matched to either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The engine produces 94hp (for the manual) and 99hp (automatic), respectively, and aside from this, the engine-transmission combination allows it to be fuel-efficient.
The Stonic can conveniently transport over 325 liters of cargo (with the rear seatbacks fully upright) and give owners more freedom to deliver what they need for leisure or work matters.
The Stonic is given an eight-inch touchscreen upon which is predicated its infotainment system. It features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and is hooked up to six speakers as standard across its variants.
Similar with other Kia vehicles, the new Stonic prioritizes safety through features like the projector headlamp design with LED daytime running lights for the EX variant (front fog lamps specifically for the LX variant) that match the look of the front fascia and adequate lighting for the driver to make sure that the view is uncompromised.
Other safety features include the child lock and Isofix child anchors that come as standard, rear camera with dynamic guidelines, anti-brake lock system, three-point seat belts with pre-tensioners, and dual front airbags.
For greater peace of mind and for better focus on the road, the new Stonic also includes driver-assistive features like hill start assist, electronic stability control (ESC), parking distance warning, illuminated push start button, and smart keyless entry, all of which are exclusive for the EX variant.
The new Stonic is also backed by a five-year/160,000-km warranty, along with 24/7 free roadside assistance for five years that also includes information service, medical assistance, minor onsite repair, personal assistance, and emergency towing for a hassle-free, enjoyable, and secured ownership.
As a thanksgiving treat as people navigate through the new normal, the new Stonic carries introductory prices as follows: P675,000 for the LX MT, P785,000 for the mid-range automatic (LX AT), and P875,000 for the top grade EX AT. This offer has been extended until November 30, 2020.
If in case customers miss this opportunity, they should not worry since these variants are priced competitively. The regular retail price of the EX AT is P925,000, the LX AT is at P835,000, and the LX MT is priced at P735,000,
