Hyundai revives Venue 

Hyundai Motor Philippines has quietly brought back the Venue nameplate and looks to get a share of the competitive subcompact crossover segment in the country. 

The company positions the model as an attainable vehicle that offers South Korean quality and reliability. It faces tough competition against segment staples Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet, and Mitsubishi XForce.

Toyota geared for Ativ release 

Toyota Motor Philippines is gearing up for the launch of its newest sedan, the Ativ. 

One of its advantages is the use of a hybrid powertrain for the range-topping model. The forthcoming arrival of the new nameplate provides the leading car brand in the country with a more affordable hybrid sedan to compete against the likes of the BYD Seal 5 DM-i.

Mitsubishi donates Triton to UPLB

In other news, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has teamed up with the University of the Philippines Los Banos to find solutions in the fight against poverty and malnutrition in Laguna. 

Turned over was a Mitsubishi Triton Athlete variant to the state-run school.

Soon after Ayala-owned ACMobility dropped the Volkswagen brand, the company soon announced it will cut ties with Honda Cars Philippines — ending a long dealership relationship.

Zigwheels PH to stage ‘Ignition Z’ 

Finally, Zigwheels Philippines — the leading automotive and motorcycle platform — will stage its inaugural sim racing competition this month, dubbed Ignition Z.
